Brief- Following the theme, ‘Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums’, National Museum in collaboration with UNESCO, TAACHT and DRONAH Foundation celebrated 40th International Museum Day.  The day began with the launch of book, ‘Museum Dialogue in India’-conceptualised by Dr Shikha Jain, edited by Rama Lakshmi and published by Aryan International Books, New Delhi. In the inaugural session, UNESCO presented its recommendations and Sahapedia launched its website on Museums of India.

Brainstorming panel discussions took place on the topics- Role of Museums, Collections care, cataloguing and conservation, Curatorial Voices- stories and people and Museum Outreach. The day ended with interesting and important recommendations by the panelists.
