The ancient site at Rakhigarhi, currently under Archaeological Survey of India, is spread over an area of about 325 hectares. The Haryana government has proposed to set up a museum at Rakhigarhi village in Hisar district over five acres of land, donated by the village panchayat, showcasing various items excavated from what was once a Harappan site. The excavations at Rakhigarhi include utensils, images of ox, cow and buffaloes, ornaments made of stones, pendants, steatite beads, semi-precious stones, gold beads, terracotta bangles, shell bangles etc., stone statues, pottery with leaf motifs, tools and weapons made of copper and bones. Seals like one depicting a composite figure of a man, bull, unicorn, elephant and a tiger, and other, a rare seal of tiger and graves.
