Project Scope: To create and compile a dossier on Indian vernacular by students.

Collaborators: Gayathri Hegde, Architect and Heritage Professional, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, goUNESCO, Biome-solutions. Project Brief-With rapid urbanisation in India, the transformation of infrastructure suggests disappearance of vernacular heritage and its associated intangible cultural practices, due to disuse and disregard. Therefore, documentation of this vast repository of ‘Traditional Knowledge’ (TK) is imperative.

Phase I – Pilot Project phase - Singular region or exceptional architecture institutes to be identified and selected for participation in a prototype trial. Phase II – Implementation of the devised protocol across all architecture institutions in India.

Outcome: A dossier on Indian vernacular architecture
